The Public League held its Golf Team and Individual Championships on Thursday, September 25th at the 1912 Club, the host of the Public League championship for the last 5 seasons. We were very lucky to have the weather hold out for a great day of golf!
What turned out to be a historic championship for the Public saw 2 players shoot under and 80 on the day and all three competing clubs shoot under a combined 400, the first time this has ever happend in Public League history.
For the past two seasons, Constitution High School had dominated the Public League Championship, each of which securing the Public League crown. Led by senior Beau Riviere, who shot a 74 on the day, the lowest score by a player on the course, Constitution looked poised to secure another victory.
They would of course, have to contend with Central, Constitution’s rival for past few championships. Central senior Manik Narula an individuals past champion in his own right, led Central with a day score of 77.

The day would ultimately belong to Philadelphia Academy Charter with two outstanding individual performances by PACHS juniors Cooper Micucci and Joey Higgins, both shooting an 84 on the day and tying for third in the individuals.

Back in 2012, Philadelphia Academy Charter began a 3 year run of dominance in the Public League Championship, winning the title 3 years in a row. Their 2014 title would be the last title they would win until this year!
